Hondurans have a thriving culture! Some of their holidays include New Year's Day(January 1st), Day of the Americas (April 14th.), Labor Day (May 1st), Independence Day (September 15th), Birth of Morazán, a national hero (October 3rd), Columbus Day (October 12th), Armed Forces Day (October 21st), and Christmas (December 25th). Honduran children must go to school from the age of 7 through 12. It can be difficult for them to go to school, because few Hondurans own an automobile. Also, most of Honduras's roads are unpaved. Honduras's main sport is futbol, or what Americans would call soccer. However, most girls dance, rather than play futbol. Honduras has many newspapers that the population can read daily. Some of the largest newspapers are El Heraldo and La Tribuna of Tegucigalpa and La Prensa of San Pedro Sula. They eat red beans, corn, tortillas, and rice are the staple foods. bananas, pineapples, mangoes, citrus fruits, coconuts,melons, avocados, potatoes, yams, and fruits and vegetables. This is only part of Honduras's amazing and vast culture!!
